Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)

U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) Programs

Each year, the City of Rialto receives Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The City Administration is responsible for administering these funds. These funds must be used to develop viable communities by promoting integrated approaches that provide items such as decent housing, a suitable living environment, and expand economic opportunities for low- and moderate-income persons. Information on current and past projects funded, as well as additional resources to learn more about the program, may be found on the 2019 to 2020 Sub-Recipients page.

Investment of CDBG funds in the community is guided by the City's Five-Year Consolidated Plan that identifies the housing, community, and economic development needs of the community, the resources available, and strategies to address identified needs. Each Annual Action Plan describes the activities to be undertaken using CDBG funds to address Consolidated Plan strategies. Subsequent to each program year, the City prepares a Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation report detailing the results of CDBG activities. Each of these documents is available in PDF format on the Documents page.
