The City of Rialto Fire Department Explorer Program (Post Number 299) is designed for youth, 14-20 years of age, who are interested in learning about a career in the fire service. This fun hands-on program provides participants with opportunities to increase their self-confidence and develop leadership skills through community-related activities.
About the Program
Through classroom instruction, hands-on training and volunteer work, Explorers gain a base of knowledge and experience that benefit them not only in fire service careers but in all future endeavors. The program encourages safety, accountability, fitness, communication, teamwork and leadership.
We teach the necessary skills needed to ride along with firefighters and paramedics. Participants will learn all aspects of working within the Fire Department including training and day-to-day operations. You will be able to do most of the training maneuvers alongside professional Rialto Fire Fighters.
Program benefits include career development, life skills, community relations, and character education.
